SILSA is a public school for grades 9-12 that focuses on off-campus activities and project-based learning opportunities. One of SILSA’s goals is to expose students to possible careers in the medical, health, and life sciences. This school is a “radical departure from traditional high school,” and uses the Rigor, Relevance, Relationship philosophy to guide their curriculum.

The Asheville Preparatory Academy is focused on preparing students in grades 6-8 for success in top-quality high schools and colleges via the Knowledge is Power Program (KIPP). This program includes high expectations, a commitment to being there, and devoting extra time to each school day plus attending school one Saturday a month.

This Early Head Start program is offered to families who are within certain income limits. Focused on serving children with disabilities, teen parents and immigrant and/or non-English speaking families, the five star center offers full- and half-day options.

The Randolph Learning Center serves students from both Asheville Middle School and Asheville High School, offering smaller classes, alternative teaching methods, and in house counseling in order to bring students “back up to speed” so that they may re-join and succeed in their regular classes.
