Guide To Asheville Parks

One of Asheville's strongest attractions is it's numerous parks and outdoor recreational activities. Our website is the only place on the internet that has mapped all the parks locations in Asheville and can provide directions to any of them from anywhere. All of Asheville’s Public parks are open seven days a week, from 6:00am until 10:00pm.


Albermarle Park

This passive park with canopy trees is located in north Asheville.

Amboy Road River Park

Part of the French Broad River Greenway, this park trail runs along the river.

Ann Patton Joyce Park

This park has a toddler playground and benches and is located in east Asheville.

Asheville Municipal Golf Course

Designed by the famous course-architect Donald Ross, this 18-hole course requires tee-time reservations, call (828) 298-1867. There is a pro-shop and a concession stand on the property and club rental is available.

Aston Park

Located near downtown, Aston Park features a playground, picnic shelter, restrooms, and the Aston Park Tennis Center, with 12 lighted clay courts.

Azalea Park

This 155 acre park is currently being developed to include the John B. Lewis Soccer complex and will include trails, picnic areas, disc golf, lakes, a retreat center, and the historic Thomas Wolfe cabin.

Carrier Park

West Asheville is home to this huge sports park. In addition to the basketball and volleyball courts, and baseball and soccer fields there is a large playground, a roller hockey rink, lawn bowling, paved trails and a multi-use track. Future plans include a pavilion, river overlooks, a boat launch, and an educational center.

Charlie Bullman Park

Located in east Asheville, this park has two baseball fields and concessions.

Choctaw Street Park

This park hosts public tennis courts.

Food Lion SkatePark

The Food Lion SkatePark is located in downtown Asheville, at the corner of Flint and Cherry Streets at the edge of the Montford neighborhood, across I-240 from the Asheville Civic Center.

French Broad River Park

This west Asheville park has a wildflower garden, a paved trail, a gazebo, picnic tables and grills, an observation deck, and a small playground and a separate fenced in dog park

Glenn’s Creek Greenway

This greenway in north Asheville connects UNCA and the botanical gardens with Broadway and Merrimon Avenue.

Grove Park

Located in north Asheville, this passive space is home to a turn of the century stone wall and great flowering trees.

Haw Creek Park

This east Asheville park has wooded natural areas, trails, a gazebo, restrooms, and a picnic shelter.

Jake Rusher Park

Located in South Asheville, this park has a huge playground and plans a trail, gazebo, basketball and volleyball courts and picnic tables.

Kenilworth Park

This park in east Asheville has a half-court basketball court, a tennis court, and a playground.

Lakewood Park

Near the Kenilworth Park, Lakewood offers a basketball court, a baseball field and a playground.

Livingston Street Park

Located downtown, this park has two baseball fields and two tennis courts.

Magnolia Park

This North Asheville park has a playground, a small picnic shelter, a half court basketball court, restrooms and a paved trail.

Malvern Hills Park

One of west Asheville’s most popular parks, this one is home to an outdoor swimming pool with a pavilion, a bathhouse, restrooms and a concession area. The park also includes a large picnic shelter, lighted tennis courts, a playground and a trail.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Park

In addition to the life-size memorial statue and landscaped courtyard, this downtown park offers a baseball field with concession, restrooms, a playground, picnic tables and grills, and a picnic shelter.

Montford Park

This downtown park has basketball and tennis courts and a concession.

Mountainside Park

Located in central Asheville, this park is home to a baseball field, a picnic shelter and a playground.

Murray Hill Park

This south Asheville park has a walking trail and pavilion with benches and picnic tables.

Murphy-Oakley Park

This east Asheville park has a baseball field, three tennis courts, a playground, a picnic shelter, a concession.

Pritchard Park

In the heart of downtown, this paved park has amphitheatre style seating, outdoor game tables, and is home to weekly Friday night drum circles.

Ray L. Kisiah Park

This park has 2 baseball fields and a concession.

Recreation Park

Located in the Azalea Park comples, this park houses a public swimming pool picnic shelters and a playground.

Richmond Hill Park

This west Asheville park is 180 acres of naturally wooded terrain containing a disc golf course and unpaved trials.

Roger Farmer Memorial Park

This west Asheville three field ballpark complex houses a picnic shelter, picnic tables, and concessions.

Shiloh Park

Located in south Asheville, this park is home to a baseball field with concession and restrooms, a basketball court, tennis court, playground, picnic tables and a trail.

Sunset Park

This is a passive park with beautiful open spaces.

Walton Street Park

This south Asheville park has a pool, softball field, a picnic shelter, concessions and a playground.

Weaver Park

Located in north Asheville, this park has a baseball field, concessions, a basketball court, playground, tennis courts, picnic shelter, and a trail.

West Asheville Park

This park houses the Gassaway Little League baseball field along with a Little League batting cage, concessions, two tennis courts, a playground, and a picnic shelter.

White Pine Park

This park is home to open spaces and picnic tables.

Valley Springs Middle School Ballfield

This south Asheville park is for school and public use and houses six baseball fields and concessons.
